God's church

We spent our Victorian Sunday morning celebrating God's beautiful creation together. Micah and Elizabeth are true explorers, preferring whenever possible to take the road less travelled. Elizabeth to Micah: "Who will get to the bottom of the hill first?" Micah to Elizabeth: "I think it will be me."

Every now and then, Elizabeth gives Kazan a spontaneous hug - I was glad to capture one of those tender moments during a rest break in our Frontenac hike.

Micah was fascinated by the baby caterpillar that Grandpa placed on the palm of his hand. Grandpa amused Micah by continuing to add one caterpillar after another to his hand, grossing the rest of us out. Yuch, ugh, ugh! Micah was VERY gentle.

I took this picture for Cara, who always loved these trees when we used to go camping at Charleston Lake - I think it's safe to say that you will remember what this tree is called, Cara?

Thank you, little family, for giving us such a lovely day in God's church!

grandma's days

Thank you to all my dear family, for all the love and gifts and meals and well-wishes you have given me over the past few days. I treasure you all. Yesterday Aaron, Micah, Elizabeth and Cassie invited Grandma and Kazan to go with them on a beautiful walk through fields and forests. Kazan is still sleeping it off!

Till next time, Sweethearts!

with Justin

Michaela and Jamie discovering their similar sense of humour. Here they are sharing the joke of some funny lips that Jamie had just tried out, first right-side-up, then upside-down.

Michaela did a great job cuddling baby Justin very tenderly.

Aunties make especially wonderful cuddlers.

Mommy and Justin on Jamie's Day, with the whole family gathered around - but we all missed Daddy! Today Josh is flying home from the Bahamas - happy reunion, little family!

Jamie's Day

For the very first time! All 6 grandkids lined up for a photo op!

From east and west the whole family gathered to celebrate this little babushka princess. Don't be fooled by her serious, pensive, almost sad demeanor - her subtle sense of humour is always moving along just below the surface, ready to pop up and take you by surprise at any moment.

The first birthday cake Grandma was able to make for Jamie (she celebrated her first birthday in England). Jamie blew out the candles all by herself!

Unwrapping a birthday present is a natural kid-magnet, making it possible to capture all 5 of the mobile grandkids in a single photo frame!

Another masterpiece by Calvin - "Jamie's Day"! I was so moved to be featured in the story line of that beautiful book - thank you, Calvin!
