family day weekend
Jamie AMAZED us this past Family Day Weekend with her ability to WHISTLE!!! AND ... as she skated and fell and picked herself up again and skated better and better as the moments went by... I didn't realize as I was watching her that this was only her second time on skates!!! Her first time was on our lake at Christmas time. I still have a hard time believing it!!! She is one DETERMINED little girl. So many capital letters and so many exclamation marks, but there's no other way to express just how AMAZED I am!!!
And dear little Justin! He quickly tired of the skating, so what did he do? He came and kept Kazan company. Poor Kazan! So very sad that he couldn't join in the fun on the ice!!! Crying and struggling against his leash, tied to a boring park bench. Thoughtful loving Justin came and tried to cheer him up.
Justin has become a real dog-lover. Here we are at the dog park. Justin in his element, one of the pack. That's Beowulf in this picture. Kazan and Beowulf were constantly moving in all directions, all over the fenced-in, wooded area. When we were leaving, someone commented on how they had thought they were seeing the same dog all the time and were wondering why he always seemed to be where they were. Yes those boys do look alike. Beowulf is 25 pounds heavier than Kazan, but Kazan makes up the size differential with his puffier fur!
Friday night has become pizza and movie night at Justin and Jamie's house, just like in the olden days when their Mommy and Daddy were little! After a long love affair with CARS, Justin and Jamie are just beginning to experience the delights of some other kids' movies. Here they are mesmerized by Monsters, Inc.
Family Day weekend was also Valentine's Day weekend. Here's Jamie making valentines for the thoughtful neighbours who had brought goodies over to her house while we were at church on Sunday morning.
... and into the envelope...

... and all by herself delivering next door...

... and across the street...

... and looking left then right then left then right then left....
Thank you Jamie and Justin and Josh and Heather
for an AMAZING weekend
with our beloved family!
beautiful birthday boy
Our big boy loves Disney's CARS. Here he is with Mack, who comes with his own Lightning McQueen, whose battery-powered self zooms and talks. Justin insisted on keeping the switch turned to the OFF position! Reminds me of his Dad, who hated loud noises too! Now that Josh has grown to love working with those previously-dreaded balloons, does this mean that Justin may one day be in the Grand Prix?
Memories of this past year, when Justin was still our little baby boy.
Here he is with his Mommy...
