God's church

We spent our Victorian Sunday morning celebrating God's beautiful creation together. Micah and Elizabeth are true explorers, preferring whenever possible to take the road less travelled. Elizabeth to Micah: "Who will get to the bottom of the hill first?" Micah to Elizabeth: "I think it will be me."

Every now and then, Elizabeth gives Kazan a spontaneous hug - I was glad to capture one of those tender moments during a rest break in our Frontenac hike.

Micah was fascinated by the baby caterpillar that Grandpa placed on the palm of his hand. Grandpa amused Micah by continuing to add one caterpillar after another to his hand, grossing the rest of us out. Yuch, ugh, ugh! Micah was VERY gentle.

I took this picture for Cara, who always loved these trees when we used to go camping at Charleston Lake - I think it's safe to say that you will remember what this tree is called, Cara?

Thank you, little family, for giving us such a lovely day in God's church!

Even I know a shagbark hickory when I see one!

Yup they're unmistakable! Wish we could have been there!

Hmm, Nature = "God's Church" ... that almost sounds like a theological debate waiting to happen! But since I know you are totally uninterested in theology and never discuss it, Franceen, you couldn't possibly have that in mind.

Just teasing! ;-)

The photos are lovely. That first one makes me think of a couple of hobbits exploring the forest.
