Jamie-Roo!

Happy Birthday, dearest sweetest Jamie Ruth!
TWO YEARS OLD TODAY!

This past weekend, Grandma got to spend a few days playing with our little sweetheart. We had SO much fun together! Here we are playing in the little tents that Micah and Elizabeth gave Jamie. Grandma sat scrunched up in one little tent, while Jamie crawled back and forth through the tunnel between the tents. I took lots of these pretty blue pictures.

Josh's luck at work again - Jamie's birthday presents from Mommy and Daddy were this doll house and an amazing play kitchen (complete with lots of accessories) - all of which Josh and Heather picked up at the side of the road! Jamie celebrated her birthday on Saturday with her many wonderful friends and neighbours.  I'm so glad I was able to be there! Next weekend we'll have a family party at Grandma and Grandpa's house - stay tuned!

Ah, little Justin Douglas. Could a smile be any sweeter?

And here is the reason Grandma got to be in Kitchener this past weekend - Uncle Calvin's big operation! All went smoothly, and Calvin is now recuperating at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  In just a few days' time, our family from east and from west will join us here to celebrate our little Sweetheart Jamie-Jamie-Jamie!!!  See you again very soon, Princess! Meanwhile, have a wonderful day today, dearest!

Leaping Lizzy!

Last weekend in Montreal we celebrated Nathanael's Birthday #2 and Elizabeth's Birthday #4.  A great time was had by all, and here is one of many beautiful moments we shared together.

Elizabeth's actual birth-day was Saturday the 12th, and on that day I made this cake for her.

Mommy and Daddy gave Elizabeth a trampoline for her birthday, and we all got to see it (some of the grown-ups even tried it out) at her family party yesterday. Then, one by one, people moved inside to warm up, leaving just Elizabeth and Grandpa still enjoying the brisk air and sunshine. Elizabeth invited Grandpa to join her on the trampoline, and I happened to look out a window at just the right time. I ran for my camera and managed to capture this special moment!

What an honour it was for me to be chosen for the inaugural reading of Uncle Calvin's incredible illustrated story, Leaping Lizzy! We were all enthralled and entertained, so much so that when we arrived at "The End", Elizabeth and Micah insisted on two immediate repeat performances!

Dearest Elizabeth Jean, our precious Princess and beautiful little Goldilocks, we love you with all our hearts! Happy Fourth Birthday, Sweetheart!

Sweet Heart

Nathanael Josh James, 2 years old, and the Sweet Heart of our lives!

Mid-way between Nathanael's 2nd and Elizabeth's 4th birthdays, we celebrated them both together. A fun and rowdy time had by all. Kazan was in heaven, and might even have managed to get the first lick of cake!

Nathanae's cupcake-cake. By the time I found my camera ("Where's my camera?" being my most frequent utterance during these events), Nathanae had lost his "l"...

...or, more accurately, Nathanael was in the process of making it disappear!

How we adore Nathanael's indomitable, fun-loving, exuberant spirit! Happy Birthday, Dearest! Your Grandma and Grandpa love you with all our hearts!

5-4-3-2-1-0

Yesterday was Nathanael's 2nd birthday! Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!!! I plan to post a special Happy Birthday entry after Nathanael's party this coming weekend. But for now I'd like to celebrate this special 10-day window each year (between Nathanael's and Elizabeth's birthdays), when each of our six grandbabies are one year apart (with apologies to Justin who appears as a "0" only because he isn't a "1" yet)!
