on Meghan's day

May 30th, Moimenta (Portugal) - far away, but thinking of you throughout this special day, Meghan. We remembered. And this is what we were experiencing while we were remembering:

... amazing Portuguese churches...

... amazing Portuguese wine ...

...but this sight took the cake - over the past 20 years, two individuals have been transforming this home into a castle!   For me, this brought to mind my Gothic studies - Horace Walpole not only launched the Gothic movement in England ("The Castle of Otranto", 1764), but also constructed his own personal castellino at Strawberry Hill.
