worlds apart

Last week, Ron went east and I went west. I may have missed out on the sun and music of Portugal, but he missed out on something even better - the smiles and embraces of two beautiful little ones.

On our last visit to Kitchener, I had to work to get the hint of a smile from our grandbaby boy. This time, Justin's smiles were ready and waiting for the slightest encouragement. And he talked to us so sweetly, with little cooing sounds. AND I think he even gave the hint of a chuckle once or twice!

While Heather and Justin were busy shopping for some clothes in the  mall, Jamie gave Grandma a strenuous aerobic and weightlifting workout as we ran together from fountain to fountain, and then as I lifted Jamie up and down and up and down and on and off and on and off of four riding thingies.   Apparently she takes delight in the journey,  not in the destination - and apparently, as far as Jamie is concerned, the journey can last forever.  I don't think she ever tires out - she seems to go go go every waking hour.  Thankfully, she sleeps well!

Even eating berries can be an adventure.

Saturday morning we went for a delightful walk to the village around the corner.  Well, most of us walked, one got to sleep through it all, and one went for a little drive!  Thanks so much, Josh and Heather, for helping to ease my loneliness while Dad was so far away!

Now I know why you haven't posted for awhile. You've been away and busy being grandma! Glad you had a good time and glad you're back!
