The Jardin des Plantes in Nantes is just amazing - I kept thinking of how much you would like it, Bev. Flowers and trees and water and birds and fish and turtles - it’s just lovely all year round, with 7 hectares of botanical specimens (11,000 different varieties) from the Americas (including Canada), Asia, Africa and of course Europe. It was "inaugurated" (as they often express it here) in 1860.
