An oasis in time and space and responsibilities, as Michaela, Joy of our hearts, visited Grandma and Grandpa's house in late October. These first photos are a tribute to Kazan's miracle collar. Before EasyWay by NewTrix, it was becoming unsafe and unpleasant for me to try to walk our powerful energybundle of a dog. Now a little child can lead him, much to Michaela's utter delight!

Gopher-for-a-day. Michaela's preoccupation during this visit was "reading" and "writing" the newspaper (studying and creating environmental evidences). Today she was a gopher (the sudden result of eating a banana), losing the power of speech, while simultaneously becoming adept at digging in the dirt. I think she could have spent all day doing this. In her more lucid, verbal phases, she wondered whether people coming along later would be able to "read the newspaper" and know that a gopher had been there.






Brand new puddle boots for exploring in the lake were eventually discarded as superfluous, as Michaela waded deeper and deeper into the frigid water. She couldn't understand why Grandma wouldn't actually take her swimming.




Great Grandad spent an afternoon with us. We were both thoroughly bemused and entertained by Michaela's astonishing endurance, curiosity, imagination, playfulness and wit. The afternoon - and Michaela's entire three-day visit - passed by all too quickly. Your friend Grandma misses you, Michaela!
